You are bidding on a collectible Steiff Museum Collection 1928 replica Penguin 7" tall with the original cardboard insert. A "museum collection" was inaugurated in 1984, which authentically recreates cherished heirlooms. This Penguin is #3246 out of a limited edition of 8,000. First manufactured in 1928, this authentic reproduction captures the spirit and realism of the original Penguin. As in the past, the bill, wings and feet are made of quality leather, and the plumage is of fine mohair plush. The Penguin is hand painted, as was its predecessor. This is the most important feature for collectors. The original cardboard insert has been worn (see photos for condition).
