Gusto, Sarrasani Circus Clown, Very Rare Steiff Felt Doll 1904 Replica 412011

Description

Gusto is a cloth art doll from the limited edition reproduction line celebrating some of Steiffs classics. Not only is he a wonderful addition to a collection but he is also a solid investment. It has a white, consecutively numbered tag on the coat tail and is number 196 of the only 1000 offered worldwide. It does have the button in the ear and is well made in Germany of wool felt, pure genuine mohair and leather shoes. Gusto is fully jointed,  head, legs and arms.
You can read more about the original Sarrasani circus dolls this was modeled after in the last two photos. At the time I listed this it was the only Gusto doll I saw offered. I was looking for another example because I am unsure what to do with the hat, should he just hold it to show off his blond "mohawk" or wear it?
I see no flaws, to me it looks excellent but please see all photos to judge condition for yourself and ask if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
