Power restored to large parts of Joburg CBD

JOHANNESBURG – City Power says power has been restored to a significant portion of the Johannesburg inner city.
The area was left powerless after the M1 underground fire.
The utility says it’s working around the clock to fully restore electricity.

It says it had to abandon the restoration on Saturday because of visibility problems and safety concerns.
The utility says it’s planning to resume work on Sunday morning.
It also says it’s working on replacing the burnt and stolen cables.
